Health Farms truths and myths uncovered

By:Mia Johansson

These are just a few comments that I hear about Health Farms, their facilities and services. There are so many myths and stories flying around the industry, so let’s attempt to put the record straight.

As we approach the second decade of the millennium Health Farms have never been so popular. People are more conscious now about their health and well being than they have ever been. A Health Farm provides an exclusive sanctuary of peace, tranquillity and the ultimate in pampering and relaxation. All this administered by highly trained and personalised staff and Beauty Therapists. Health Farms provide a wide spectrum of services that will cater for your every need. Whether it is pampering, de tox, weight loss, a kick start in to fitness Health Farms can tailor make packages to suit both your personal requirements and your pocket.

Lets put one myth to bed. Health Farms are not full of rich fat people, or sour face obnoxious people. Health Farms cater for guests from all walks of life and social standings. The beauty of Health Farms is whether you are a tramp off the street or a multi millionaire, once you have got your towel robe and slippers on, everyone looks the same anyway, more importantly everyone is always treated the same with a very personalised service so don’t be put off thinking you wont fit in! Guests range from young to old the average age being around thirty five.

Let’s clear up another myth. Health Farms are not expensive, infact they are great value for money when you actually breakdown the package and put a value on the individual meals, treatments, services and classes that are all included. Lets take a typical 2 night package at Champneys Henlow, Bedfordshire. People hear the name Champneys and straight away think oh no, this is going to be expensive. A 2 night stay at Henlow Grange would cost you from £289 per person. That includes two nights accommodation, All Meals (6 meals) 3 treatments, full use of swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym. Up to 20 classes all day every day for you to choose at your leisure, so here is your proof Health Farms are not expensive it’s just that you pay up front for the package which includes an awful lot!

So you decide you like the idea of Health Farms, you have justified the costs but what are you going to do when you get there? On arrival you will be given a tour of the resort and be shown the facilities, restaurant and exercise studios. You are then left to unpack and begin that all important relaxation which you so dearly deserve. I recommend that you check the notice board to get an idea of the scheduling of classes throughout the next few days, then plan your stay around your treatments, activities, meals and any exercise you want to do.

Another myth we must get of is, a lettuce leaf for dinner and that you are starved. Food at Health Farms is delicious and there is plenty of it. With only twelve boni fidi health farms in the UK they all have the very finest of Chefs. A typical breakfast will consist of hot and cold options, fruit juices, cereals and a buffet. Lunch once again a choice of hot and cold options with a buffet with meats, salads etc. Evening meals are three course with a choice of starters, main course and desserts.
