Hypnosis was once looked down upon, referred to as �mumbo-jumbo� and generally dismissed by the medical profession as a whole. Things have certainly changed. This may take the form of the client reliving past events or simply answering questions to let the subconscious bring the answers forward that the person needs in order to move forward in their lives in a healthy and productive manner.
Another increasingly popular form of hypnosis is forensic hypnosis. This is used to help victims of crime recall details that are too painful to remember. In cases where this relaxed state of mind is the only way people are able to recall painful memories without becoming too overwhelmed, this is useful to the detectives investigating the crime.
