How To Reduce Or Prevent Wrinkles

By:Vanessa Brown

For many people one of the first signs of aging is the dreaded wrinkles appearing, while they are a fact of life there are ways you can decrease or prevent wrinkles from arriving. While there are some things you cannot change; your age and the fact that as you grow older you body succumbs to gravity and bones thin, laugh lines and other facial expression may also cause permanent etch lines in your face etc there are things you can do that can slow or prevent wrinkles forming in your skin.

One of the first things to remember is how harmful the sun's rays can be; no matter how much you might want a nice tan, spending too much time in the sun is not good for your skin. Always use sunscreen and wear a hat if you're going to be exposed to the sun for long periods. Wearing sunglasses is also important as it avoids the need to squint which over time can form those wrinkles around your eyes (‘Crow’s Feet’)

Smoking can also be very harmful to your skin and often squinting to avoid smoke in your eyes can contribute to 'Crows Feet'

Get plenty of sleep: it's also been suggested that you should sleep on your back; sleeping on your stomach or side can cause sleep lines, over time these may become permanent features.

A good healthy diet and regular exercise can also help reduce wrinkles, by providing the anti-oxidants you need as well as getting the blood to flow and reach the capillaries in your skin.

Take note of your facial expressions, if you tend to frown a lot during times of stress etc these expressions may cause wrinkles so look into some form of relaxation technique etc

There are of course other ways to help protect your skin and reduce or prevent wrinkles; from specially designed creams available through your doctor or pharmacist to medical procedures such as surgery but those listed above are some of the easiest and most common ways to help with wrinkles.
