One of the diabetes types is called diabetes insipidus. The scanty production of an anti diuretic hormone is one of the caused that leads to diabetes insipidus. This hormone helps your body and your kidneys maintain the needed amount of water.

There are many causes for diabetes insipidus. Some of the medical conditions that cause this type of diabetes are known for sure, some of them are less known. The list of known causes for diabetes insipidus includes:
- hypothalamus problems, thus the production of a smaller anti diuretic hormone, which is crucial if you do not want to suffer from diabetes insipidus;
- a problem in your pituitary gland: this gland is responsible with the releasing of the hormone in your bloodstream; when the gland is not functioning well, diabetes insipidus can be the result;
- some damage that has been done to your pituitary gland or hypothalamus during surgery;
- tumors, brain injuries can also lead to diabetes insipidus;
- meningitis is another diabetes cause; this is the medical condition where the membrane that coverers tour spinal cord and brain gets inflamed;
- a blockage in your arteries can also lead to this type of diabetes;
- tuberculosis;
- encephalitis can also lead to diabetes insipidus; this is the medical condition that describes ones brain inflammation;
- sarcoidisis is a more rare condition, but this as well can lead to diabetes insipidus; when suffering from this condition, your lymph nodes and some other tissues will get inflamed;
