Skin Care: How do diet changes affect skin health?
- By:Ursula McLean
Your skin is reflection of your health. There are several factors that affect skin health. Good skin care would include paying attention to all the factors and maintaining equilibrium in the body. These factors include dietary, hygiene and health.
Maintaining healthy diet is most important for all those desirous of healthy skin. Healthy diet does not mean a diet heavy in all forms of nutrition. There are several aspects of maintaining a healthy diet. Something as seemingly unimportant as water is very important when it comes to replenishing moisture in our body.
Water one of the most important things to include in healthy lifestyle all together. Warm water, during winter and cool (no ice cold) water during summer will keep you and your skin healthy. Water allows better circulation of blood, cleans our system of all impurities, which tend to wash out with urine. Drinking at least 8 glasses of 200 ml. is a must if you want cleaner skin. There are several other health advantages of water, including reduction in blood pressure and heart disease risk.
Foods that are a must in any diet are foods that are rich in fiber, low in cholesterol and fat. Latest scientific evidence shows that legumes and sprouts have maximum protein, as well as the red meat, not just the protein these also have lower calories and are rich in fiber. Introduction of fibrous food is extremely necessary for digestion. Doctors and dieticians have for long times have been advising people against intake of red meat.
Milk products like the yogurt have emerged out very advantageous to health. Especially the products like pro-biotic yogurt, containing health friendly bacteria have known to help digestion better. Yogurt is also known as a good source of calcium and fiber. Yogurt helps maintaining and controlling the level of acid in stomach, thus avoiding outbreak of acne and pimples.
Skin care includes paying special attention to what you have included in daily diet. Home made fresh food is always the best option if you want to be able to count the exact number of calories you eat. Other fiber rich foods include the salads; you have a wide range of these available. You should take care and ensure you eat at least one salad dish each day. Include salad items like cucumber, onions, tomatoes, radish, broccoli, etc. as a regular. Make sure you do not end up adding vegetable oils or cheese to your salad dish. A dash of fresh lemon is always welcome.
When you have all that you know you should include in your daily diet, you should also know what is most avoidable, good skin care demands that you should avoid alcoholic beverages, tobacco, junk and very spicy foods. These dietary changes would not be too heavy on your pocket, nor are these very challenging. For all those desirous of providing good skin care to self, should be conscious of the food they eat and should calculate how much and what type of food is excellent for their body, soul and skin.
