The Problem Working with Computer
- By:Bob Taylor Taylor
When I first read about carpal tunnel relief, or the inflammation that develops in the wrists due to repetitive motions such as typing, there was little to choose from in terms of carpal tunnel relief. As much as I needed carpal tunnel relief, I didn't want to have to sacrifice my productivity or a lot of money in order to get it.
The recommended remedies usually included abstaining from the repetitive motions for a few days, taking anti-inflammatory medication, or getting physical therapy. None of these methods of providing carpal tunnel relief were to my liking. Since I was working for myself, I didn't have a worker's compensation program in place, nor did I have very good health insurance.
I make my living as a freelance writer. Most of the time, I love my job because I can work from home, be my own boss, and exert control over nearly every aspect of career. One drawback, however, is that I now suffer from various physical ailments directly related to spending 12 hours per day (or more) in front of my computer. The worst of the pain is in my wrists, which of course affects my ability to type (and, therefore, earn money).
In recent years, alternative carpal tunnel relief methods have been developed as doctors have come to know more about the problem. One common means of carpal tunnel relief is surgery. This is a pretty drastic step, of course, and I wanted to avoid it at all costs for the same reasons I mentioned above. I wanted affordable, non-invasive carpal tunnel relief -- preferably something that didn't require a prescription or repeated visits to the doctor.
After checking online, I discovered that there are a lot of things I could do on my own to promote carpal tunnel relief. For example, I purchased an ergonomic keyboard, mouse, and wrist support. These items were available at my local office supply store and provided noticeable carpal tunnel relief after just a few days of use. I also found that there are several natural creams and ointments on the market that claim to provide carpal tunnel relief. I searched until I found a cream that came from a reputable source and that had plenty of testimonials from satisfied customers before placing my order.
The combination of ergonomic computer accessories and my daily applications of natural cream has given me the carpal tunnel relief I've been seeking for so long. I am now able to work productively every single day, and while my pain hasn't disappeared entirely, I don't suffer to the same degree that I once did. I'm extremely thankful that I was able to find affordable carpal tunnel relief all on my own! So I am constantly on the lookout for the latest advances in carpal tunnel relief.
