Before you experience any effectiveness from the methods of treatment, however, you need to be aware what has caused your under-eye bags and puffiness. Once you are informed and knowledgeable the specifics of why under-eye bags and puffiness are affecting you, you will be able to properly assess and treat your problem.
The Causes
There are many different factors that are considered as being potentially liable for causing under eye-bags, wrinkles, and puffiness. One in particular is genetics. Not many people are aware of it, but these sorts of problems do actually run in families, so if your mother or father had issues like this then the odds are increased that you, too, will have similar issues. It is thought that carbon deposits, resulting from incomplete protein digestion, is the cause of dark circles under the eye, so even if your problem is hereditary you will
still be able to receive treatment.
Allergies are another very common cause of under-the-eye bags and puffiness, but the good thing about allergies—if there is such a thing—is that allergies can be taken care of. Try removing the allergen from your life and see what the results are. Allergy problems, particularly seasonal ones such as hay fever, can effectively be treated with prescription and over-the-counter medications, but for other types of allergies you will have to discuss it with your doctor. Your doctor will then prescribe you the proper medication or method of treatment.
You also want to get plenty of rest and make sure that you are regularly drinking lots of water. At least eight glasses of water a day is what you should strive for. If you are having problems determining what the cause of your under-eye problems is, then your next step should be to see a dermatologist, as they are trained professionals in this area and will be able to take tests and question you in order to find out the root cause of your condition.
The Solutions
Once the cause has been determined, you can now move on to finding the
proper method of treatment. There are many brand of under-the-eye
treatment available for you to choose from, as well as many home remedies that have been proven to work. Cucumbers and figs, for instance, both work incredibly well to relieve swelling and bags from under the eyes, and they also both ease stress. Vitamin E is known to work wonders as well, as it helps to promote moisture and elasticity in the skin, as well as firm and tone the skin under and around the eyes.
There are also various cosmetic products available that you can buy and use to help conceal your under-eye bags and puffiness. A great face foundation can hide anything you deem important enough to conceal. The most important to remember is that with all these different options available to you that help is there. It won’t be long before you are back to looking like your old self again.
