Obesity and Acomplia

By:haesel smith smith

The industrial revolution gave us a lot of things that we take for granted. Today, we can’t think of life without electricity. The computer, internet or television are no longer luxury items, they are the necessity of every household. It’s quite difficult to think of an evening without the television programs. Mixers, blenders, dishwashers, all have been gifts bestowed on us by technology. Indeed technology has made our lives more comfortable and convenient.

However, there is flip side to the story as well. Where technology has made lives convenient and comfortable to many, it has also been a source of many new problems as well. In the olden days, when television was not invented, people used to amuse themselves with outdoor sports such as horse riding, swimming etc. Watch the movie “Sound of Music” and you will understand this fact. People used to climb trees, play outdoor games, sing and dance for their enjoyment.

These activities ensured the optimum fitness levels for all. These days all that people do is come back from the office and plunk themselves in front of the idiot box and just watch it whole day long. The only physical activity they do is to either press buttons on the remote to change channels or bring their hand to their mouth to eat something. This current lifestyle has led to problems of obesity, heart problems and many other diseases. Obesity has even taken toll on the innocence of childhood. Earlier kids used to eat their fill and then play all day long. Nowadays all kids are hooked on to cartoon network and fast food. The idea of enjoyment today is no longer parks and games but has changed to drive to McDonalds and having greasy junk food.

The disease of obesity has spread far and wide. Though diet pills like Acomplia with ingredients like Rimonabant have been helpful in combating obesity, this disease needs a complete lifestyle change. A change of mind set with a determined willpower and garnished with Acomplia is the perfect recipe to keep obesity at bay forever.
